Matthew Burroughs Funeral Fund

Our beloved brother Matthew Burroughs, 35, was brutally murdered by Niles, Ohio, police while sitting unarmed in his car outside his apartment building Jan. 2, 2019. Several police sprayed bullets in his car through the rear car window rendering him disabled or fatally wounded.  A witness stated that he was waiting in his car for a friend to help him repair a tire when shooting occurred.  After the initial rear car shooting local bystanders and residents video footage showed him being tazed and shot simultaneously by police who had surrounded his car after the shooting him through the rear window.  He had just returned from the courthouse where a hearing was unexpectedly cancelled over a police warrant issued in December where no arrest was made. We are not certain what happened at the courthouse.  The stories from the police are inconsistent and constantly changing.  We do know that Matthew left the courthouse and went home to his apartment shortly thereafter the police arrived at his apartment complex and subsequently murdered him. 

Matthew lived to love his 8-year old daughter whom he adored and meant the world to him.  Matthew was on social security disability and worked part-time at a temp service as a fork lift operator.  He had no life insurance.

We have gotten numerous inquiries from the community, friends and family how they can help with funeral expenses and encouraged us to create this Go-Fund Me site.  We appreciate the help so much, and on behalf of Matthew - who would be very moved by it - we thank you.
