In case you're reading this and don't know Matt & Joanna, a little background...
This sweet couple came into my life as college students. We hired Joanna to nanny for our two small children and immediately fell in love. Then one day she brought Matt along - it was obvious she had picked a good one. We loved him. Our children loved him. And we loved the two of them together.
A few years later we celebrated with them as they married and started their new life together. That was 11 years ago. About 6 years ago they felt they were ready to start a family. And so began the long and difficult journey they've been on ever since.
After discovering that they were not able to have children of their own, they began praying for God to show them His will for how they would build their family.
The answer was adoption. And that leads us to today.
They were recently selected by a young mother who lives out of state. And actually, although she narrowed the choices down, the woman's 12-year old daughter is the one who ultimately chose Matt & Joanna!
The doctor is planning to perform a c-section at 35 weeks due to complications, which means the baby will be here NEXT WEEK! While super exciting, this means that Matt & Joanna are facing additional costs (on top of how ridiculously expensive adoption is) as they will need to remain in the birth state for 3-4 weeks, certainly not what they were expecting!
So...here's where you come in. I was thinking about how many of us out there love these two, and how many of us have followed their difficult journey to start a family. And I figured if I've been wondering how I could support them, maybe you have to!
While it's super fun to pick out baby clothes, I feel like they could probably use a little cash money for this adventure as well. I didn't quite know how to ask that, and maybe you've felt that way too. When I finally broke the ice and asked, they humbly affirmed my thoughts... they could totally use some help with this unexpected finale!
So if you are so inclined...I've created this page to allow you to help Matt + Joanna become a family of three (humans, that is)
