Maternal Intuition - a Natural Born Doc

Donation protected
I never thought I would make a film about the art of giving birth, but I found out how important it was when I became pregnant in 2017, with my daughter Maya Sita. My husband and I decided to make this documentary about natural birthing when I decided to try and have an out-of-hospital birth due to safety concerns. The hospital seems like a safe place to be when you are going to be having a baby, but to me, it was the place where demons would lurk. I would try whatever I could to avoid a hospital birth. I wanted to avoid the harmful medical interventions that went along with the delivery of a child. I also decided to film three other women about their own journeys in giving birth outside a hospital.

One of the women ended up having her baby at a hospital due to an unforeseen emergency. This documentary addresses issues such as radiation, harmful toxins in the environment, such as mold, vaccinations, nutrition and health risks, and induction of labor along with the heartbreak of pregnancy loss. I lost a child of my own during the 5-year process of making this film and it was thanks to a nonprofit organization called "The Victoria Project," that I had the strength to move on and deliver another healthy baby. Baby Levi is the latest addition to our family, and how our documentary's story ends.

I received funding from the Victoria Project for my last labor and delivery because they help mothers give natural births and also recover from pregnancy losses. They funded my vaginal steaming session that helped me heal after my pregnancy loss and also enabled me to become fertile more quickly. Because I owe the existence of my youngest child to them, I am donating 3 percent of the proceeds of the film's sales for when the film is out there being watched by audiences. Just to be clear, however, no money raised through this Kickstarter campaign will be donated to the charity.

We are looking for the finishing funds to be able to hire a colorist and sound designer for the film. We will also be looking for distribution and marketing funds later on.
