Border Tent City Supply Drive

Dana Rushing is heading back to the border on January 10.  There will be a protest about the treatment of immigrants in Brownsville on January 12, but she will also be crossing into Matamoras to join our friend, Joyce Hamilton, as they buy supplies at the Matamoras Walmart for those living in tents on the border.  Sheila Wilson and Susan Mitchell will be traveling with her, as well.  Susan is fluent in Spanish and plans to cook meals for the asylum seekers in Matamoras while we're there.


If anyone feels moved to donate money for this cause, please donate to this gofundme campaign.  Many of you contributed last year when we traveled to McAllen to join the Grannies Respond movement, so we realize you might feel that you've already contributed enough money.  We understand if you can't donate, particularly this time of year.  As you're aware, the need has grown due to the fact that our government is forcing people seeking asylum to stay in Mexico for long periods of time.  The conditions in these camps are appalling.
