Mary's Deployment to Puerto Rico

I have been asked by National Nursing Association  out of Oakland California to deploy as an Emergency RN to aid the victims of Hurricane  Maria in Puerto Rico. 
I feel it is an honor to be called and serve. However, it is an unpaid deployment and does put a financial burden on my family.  I hope by asking my family and friends to help supplement my loss of income during the two weeks I will still meet most of my bills plus be able to buy supplies for the trip, ie sleeping mat, appropriate clothes and shoes for situation on island, big back pack to carry my belongings. (a suitcase will not work for this environment)
I understand my burden is nowhere close to what our Puerto Rican citizens are being challenged with, but this could be a positive way for all you to help me help them. You know where your money is going.
This is not a vacation trip but a very challenging assignment. We will be sleeping in the Colosseum all together in sleeping bags and maybe cots. We will do whatever needs to be done and go where we are told to help. If my family was in Peurto Rico struggling I would want some to find it in their heart to help. So I am going to help. But it will make it easier if you could find it in your heart to help me too. 
I will be deploying from Minneapolis on Tuesday afternoon October 3 to Newark, NJ and then on a Charter Plane on Wednesday to San Juan.  Anticipated return date around 18th or 19th.
