Hello All and Happy Holidays!
As many of you know, Mary and I have been friends for many many years and for years I have watched her sacrifice much more than you all probably could ever imagine working to follow her passion helping animals in need (and people many times in the process) and rarely ever asking for anything in return - so this year I wanted to do something extra special for her!
I finally convinced her to book a vacation in January and trust me that was not easy - mostly for financial reasons. But I did it!!!! Since she put her deposit down and booked her flight she has been even more stressed!! Obviously that was not my intention so I was hoping that this year I could help her out by raising money for her vacation as a Christmas gift from all of the volunteers and her friends/family.
I have found over the years that Mary has become very good at putting herself last - covering physical and emotional pain fighting a war that seems like it can never be won and is endless as anyone who is involved in rescue understands.
Mary has always put her work first - she will forego sleep, food, and her personal life to ensure whatever comes thru those barn doors gets the best possible outcome whatever that may be as that is part of her soul and she would not ask for anything in return.
Normally I would not ask for donations from the volunteers as you all already do so much but I know she needs this more than ever this year having had a tough year personally as well with the loss of her dad, her brother, and most recently Boo.
So she has booked 8 days at a ranch in Arizona where she can ride, relax, and rejuvenate with her friends.
I hope this year you all will consider donating a little bit to the "Mary" fund - any amount is appreciated and will give her an opportunity to have a week away to rejuvenate!
