Mark's Journey. Esophageal Cancer.

Hi, My name is Jackie Lane. I'm fundraising for my amazing brother-in-law Mark Nost and my baby sis and best friend Anita Nost. These two mean the world to me, an awesome couple who's been married for 25 years on April 25. We spend a lot of time together and I couldn't imagine the world without either of them. Unfortunately. They are embarking on a journey no one should have to go through. This journey began on 03/05/2023. when Mark was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. What we know at this point is, it is stage T2. We don't know what kind of esophageal cancer or location or anything about the treatment. Mark is looking into having his surgery at the Mayo Clinic and treatment here in Cedar Rapids. We do know it's not in his lymph nodes which is AWESOME! His next appointment is Wednesday, March 29th. we should know more then. To make matters worse, Mark blew out his knee one week later.He has been off work for two weeks with no income. He went back to work today and only made it half a day. He's been waiting for Insurance approval for an MRI since March 13th. They are no strangers to struggles, in the 25 years they've been together, they survived many. My sis, Anita suffers from mental illness, depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. she also suffers from fibromyalgia, in fact, she just recently had to leave her job because the work was very demanding on the body, which caused her fibromyalgia to flair up. Mark is there for her, comes home from work and cooks dinner every night. And much more. Early in their marriage, in August of 1998, their daughter was born prematurely. which was a lot of struggle for the first year of her life. in April 2005 Anita was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was a 3 years battle for them She also had two back surgeries and a Hiatal hernia repair, plus more. They have Faced it, Fought it, and Conquered it all, TOGETHER!

All funds will be used for Mark and Anita's Household expenses, Morgage, Utilities, Food, Car payment, and Travel expenses, etc.
