Dear friends and family,

As many of you know, we tragically lost our mother, Marjorie Ahmat, on Saturday afternoon. Mum was a Wardaman, Torres Strait Islander and Ramindjeri woman, born and raised in Darwin. She was a larger-than-life person with a heart of gold, always putting her family first. Her grandchildren were the absolute apple of her eye.

Mum spent her life caring for her children - Sacha, Myself, Suzie and Ben and later moved to Sydney to be closer to us and her beloved grandchildren. Her sudden passing has left us in shock and has made it difficult for us to prepare for her funeral.

As a family, we are seeking assistance to help cover the unexpected costs of giving her the send off she truly deserves. If you’re in a position to contribute, any amount it would be greatly appreciated.
