Mario's Uber/Lyft Fund
Spende geschützt
If anyone knows Mario, you know how hard he has worked over the past couple years to become a Firefighter/Paramedic. After two years of classes, tests, work, and sleepless nights he was finally able to get into his internship with the Sacramento fire station for paramedic which is the final stretch to accomplishing his dream. Four weeks into his internship during one of his shifts, he was found on the ground sitting up unresponsive.
Luckily, he was at the right place when this occurred, among fellow firefighters and paramedics who quickly took him to the ER. With the grace of God, all of his MRI, CT scans and blood work came normal, which left him with the diagnosis of an unexplained Seizure. As you can imagine, we were all relieved to hear the news the test results were normal; however, still worried as we will not know if this may happen again. The doctor advised though that due to this, he can not fight any fires, climb ladders, and not drive for 6 months. He is able to go back to his job which he works at when he is not at his internship at Mercy San Juan hospital 4 days a week, and also he can go back to his internship with the station.
In the meantime, as you can imagine, it has been very difficult for him, especially at his age not to be able to drive. As a family, we are all coming together to help pick up, drop off, and Uber him to and from work as much as we can. Unfortunately, Mario’s works schedule changes during the week and his morning shifts start at 3:30 am, and other days he does not get off work until midnight. This is very hard for everyone that works to be able to take him all the way to out Mercy San Juan at those times, so we are left with having him Uber.
The cost to Uber from home to Mercy San Juan can cost as much as $30 one way. Over the course of 6 months this can get very costly, we wanted to put together this page if anyone can help out by donating so we can fund his Uber/Lyft accounts during the 6 months he cannot drive. Any assistance is extremely appreciated!
