Marian Crumpler of Clinton, North Carolina — mother of Michael, Corey, Sheteta, and Deirdre — passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the age of 67 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

The love she had for her family and they for her is beyond measure, and her absence will be painfully felt by so many. The world is truly less bright without her.

Unfortunately, her life insurance had not fully matured, and the family welcomes any financial support to assist with funeral and burial expenses. After consulting with them, I decided to create this Go Fund Me account to help collect any donations folks may be able to contribute. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Robert Campbell

Marian Adele Frances “Sunny” Williams Crumpler, also know as “Boot,” was born to the late Sunny Williams and Eliza Frances Bright Williams on July 13, 1951 in Magnolia, NC and departed this life on February 17, 2019 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC. Boot was diagnosed with cancer in early 2018 and had every intention of fighting and winning the battle. Having already reached stage 4 upon diagnosis, Boot embraced the challenges of late-stage cancer with dignity and grace. Dying rarely crossed her mind as she lived every day as if she would last for eternity.

Boot graduated Union High School, Class of 1969 and later earned an associate’s degree at Bergen Community College in NJ in 1987. She retired from Smithfield Foods in 2015 after 7 years of rigorous and faithful labor.

Boot was a stranger to no one and was loved by everybody. Her zeal for life was truly contagious as she was always eager to go to any lengths to harbor a family member or help a friend in need. Never one to bite her tongue, Boot would tell you the truth and love you unconditionally as you struggled to accept it. She was everybody’s mother, sister, auntie, and friend.

Boot’s many names, Marian Adele Francis “Sunny” Williams, represent the fullness of her life and her deep love for her family. The youngest of 13, she was her mama’s baby and a rock to a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who leaned on her for strength, trusted her with confidences, and depended on her for support and safety. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world and losing her daughter, Deirdre, broke her heart.

Boot was known and loved by so many in and beyond the community of Waycross where she was born and raised. The lives she impacted will never be the same. Our only relief is knowing that she is free from pain, free from grief, and surrounded by her sweet daughter, beloved mother and father, and eight precious siblings who had gone home before her.

We love you Marian! You will be deeply missed!
