Maria Kisylyczka - Snowdrop - Volunteer Hero

Unfortunately Maria Kisylyczka (aka Snowdrop) sadly passed away on Christmas Eve 2023 surrounded by her close family.

Maria was an absolute fighter and fought off many illnesses over the years. She never allowed this to get in the way of all of the volunteering that she did. She always had a huge smile on her face and was full of energy and fantastic creative ideas. All of the children absolutely loved Snowdrop. She was great fun to be around.

Only last year Maria received a Chief Commissioners Award for volunteering for over 23 years. She was a leader and supported four units in Nottingham - Two Rainbow Groups, One Brownies and one guides. Each week that involved 5.5 hours of meetings plus all of the administrative work; recording activities and maintaining finances.

Maria gave up all of her time despite working full time as a nurse, running a family of three and whilst caring for elderly parents.

I thought it would be nice to give something back to her family and help to raise some money towards the cost of her funeral and to help her family during this extremely difficult time. All donations will go directly to her family.
