Friends, Family, and Beyond,
Last year, two days after turning 23, I was diagnosed with Leukemia.
As I've battled the disease over the last year, I've learned a lot about myself and the community around me. I've learned that there is nothing you can't overcome with the right attitude and the right support system. I've learned the true definition of selflessness from the outpouring of support by people I barely knew.
I learned that you can never give up the fight.
Although I have not yet entered remission, I know that I will. I can say this with such certainty because of the amazing people who I am lucky to call friends. I have been gifted every tool needed to overcome this chapter in my story, but not everyone is similarly blessed.
On November 4th, 2018, I will be running the NYC Marathon for DKMS, a society dedicated to eradicating blood cancer. My goal is to eliminate the disease entirely, and provide support to those who haven't been afforded the same opportunity.
With incredible selflessness, Josh Wagner and Allison Lebrun have both pledged to run with me for the same cause. Together, we are setting a goal of 10k to raise between now and then, in conjunction with several Donor Registration events that we have organized. Our ask is to donate, and please share.
Life changes fast, trust me. It's not every day that you are given a chance to change the world. Please join us in doing just that.
