On Thursday, Dec. 20 at about 7:30pm, the apartment directly below Mandy’s caught fire. The flames didn’t reach her home, but the smoke definitely did. The Houston Fire Department also had to bust through her front door to clear her apartment.
Mandy is now facing a lengthy process of restoration from the extensive smoke damage, loss of personal possessions and business inventory, and a two+ week hotel stay while landloard/management make repairs to her property.
Insurance claims are in process, however the amount of red tape involved is monumental. Mandy will also be expected to front the money for a hotel stay, replacement of essential possessions and has suffered the extreme loss of potential income due to the smoke damage to her business inventory.
Any contribution you, family & friends, can make toward helping Mandy cover a place for her, Jason and her two sweet kitties to stay during the restoration of her apartment and to restore all that has been lost will be beyond appreciated.
