Mandalay Earthquake

I'm sure you have seen the devastation that has hit Myanmar this last weekend, and specifically Mandalay. Mandalay has a big place in my heart and I have family and friends who have been affected by the Earthquake.

Meme is a friend I met back in 2017. Her home has been destroyed in the Earthquake and she, along with her husband and young daughter Thameelay are now seeking emergency shelter in a Monastery in Mandalay. I last spoke to Meme on Monday 31st March when she said her and her family were struggling to get food. I managed to get some money over to her account, but I have not heard from her since as I assume she can't charge her phone. On top of this, her place of work (Flymya) has been destroyed by the Earthquake, so she no longer has an income.

I would desperately like to get some more money over to Meme so that she can at least feed herself and her family.

The money raised here will go into my account, then over to my Grandad's HSBC account in Myanmar, he will then transfer every penny over to Meme's KPay account. This is the only way to get money directly to Meme, so I hope that you can trust that every penny will reach her and her family.

There's very little we can do to help the situation in Mandalay, and it's heartbreaking. But I'd like to make sure that Meme can feed her family during this awful time, until they can sort themselves out.

Any donation will make a difference. I've put £300 as the target, this should enable Meme to feed her family of 3 for the next 3-4 weeks (Just about!).
