Man the Lifeboats at the Castle Tap - 24 Nov 2022

A fundraising gig for Reading Samaritans is being held at the Castle Tap pub in Reading on 24 Nov 2022. Man the Lifeboats ("A blistering live experience, tales of lost evenings, ballads of doomed love and shanties about whisky-soaked nights, Michael Palin, and the end of the world) will be playing at the pub as part of their Soul of Albion 2022 Tour.

The Castle Tap is putting on this event, supported by friends of the pub, to raise money for Reading Samaritans. The charity has provided emotional support for the people of Reading (and beyond) for the past 60 years.

How did we get here? Well, the Castle Tap, Cara, and I decided a fundraiser for Samaritans would be a good idea. We spoke with Man the Lifeboats, and they liked the idea. The three parties (pub, Cara, and I) are paying for Man the Lifeboats to play, so you're not buying tickets for the band. We all agreed that all money would go direct to Reading Samaritans, hence the fundraiser. Running this as a fundraiser is to help ensure that it's clear what money will go to the charity we're supporting.

The Castle Tap has an excellent selection of beverages; beers, whiskies, ciders, and non-alcoholic drinks. Something for almost everyone, we hope.
