Help Mama Africa and Abdul change their future

Hi! We are Anna and Ilaria, two twenty-year-old girls who this summer decided to invest their time by volunteering in a school in a village in Tanzania.

Thanks to this experience we had the opportunity to get to know a reality that is as diverse and interesting as it is full of difficulties and obstacles.

We were warmly welcomed by Abdul and his wonderful family.

Abdul lives in Chamazi, a village near Dar Es Salaam. During the time spent in Africa we had the opportunity to get to know him, his life and his family. Abdul and his loved ones live using the money earned by the volunteers they host, unfortunately the number of volunteers who go annually is very limited. This does not allow them to save and create opportunities for a new future. Finding a job is very difficult because the little money that is earned is invested to meet basic needs (food, water and electricity).

Abdul would like to open a simple yet useful "Car washing" business, but unfortunately he doesn't have the funds to afford it.

Mama Africa, for her part, would like to open a small business which would consist in cooking and selling the dishes through a stall on the main road.

Anna and I have decided to believe in the possibility of redeeming oneself and changing one's destiny thanks to people you meet on your path and who believe in second chances.

Ciao! Siamo Anna e Ilaria, due ragazze di vent'anni che questa estate hanno deciso di investire il loro tempo facendo volontariato in una scuola di un villaggio in Tanzania.

Grazie a questa esperienza abbiamo avuto la possibilità di conoscere una realtà tanto diversa e interessante quanto ricca di difficoltà e di ostacoli.

Siamo state calorosamente accolte da Abdul e dalla sua meravigliosa famiglia.

Abdul vive a Chamazi, un villaggio nei pressi di Dar Es Salaam. Durante il periodo trascorso in Africa abbiamo avuto la possibilità di conoscere lui, la sua vita e la sua famiglia. Abdul e i suoi cari vivono utilizzando i soldi guadagnati dai volontari che ospitano, purtroppo il numero dei volontari che si recano annualmente è molto limitato. Ciò non permette loro di risparmiare e di crearsi opportunità per un nuovo futuro. Trovare un lavoro è molto difficile perché il poco denaro che viene guadagnato viene investito per soddisfare bisogni primari (cibo, acqua ed elettricità).

Abdul vorrebbe aprire una semplice ed utile attività di "Car washing", ma purtroppo non ha i fondi per permetterselo.

Mama Africa, da parte sua, amerebbe aprire una piccola attività che consisterebbe nel cucinare e vendere le pietanze mediante una bancarella sulla strada principale.

Io e Anna abbiamo deciso di credere nella possibilità di riscattarsi e cambiare il proprio destino grazie a persone che incontri sul tuo cammino e che credono nelle seconde occasioni.
