Malachi Acres Horse Stable Fire

Malachi Acres is an equestrian riding school and barn located in Parkland, Florida.  Donice Muccio grew up obsessed with horses.  She and her husband, Steve started working with
horses in 1988 and in November of 1999, she made her obsession a reality when they opened Malachi Acres.  She was able to integrate her love of horses with her passion for working with kids.   In the last twenty years, Malachi Acres has been an important part of the community in Coral Springs and Parkland.   Malachi Acres sponsored a charity benefit at the barn for cancer research complete with food, horse rides and entertainment.  Donice has worked with special needs kids as they get to experience the joy of riding.  Over the years, Donice and Malachi’s instructor/camp director, Debbie Grahl, have trained hundreds of kids to ride and care for these beloved horses. These young students have gained confidence in themselves, learned the value of hard work,  and dedicated themselves to the care of these beautiful animals.  

On Sunday evening, August 26th, 2018, Malachi Acres suffered a terrible fire.  Luckily, none of the horses was injured. However, there was tremendous damage to one of the barns.  Donice and Steve feel incredibly grateful that no animals were lost, and they are now faced with the enormous task of rebuilding the barn, replacing horse tack, as well as the equipment that was lost in the blaze. Many people have come forward asking how they can help, so we are setting up this campaign to make that possible. Please consider donating towards the cleanup and rebuilding of this beautiful barn that has become such an important part of our community and in the lives of so many students and families over the last two decades.
