Our friend needs our help.
Almost four years ago, in March of 2015, Kyonghui (Kim) Mehta was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer. After three months of intensive chemotherapy treatment—plus a nine-hour long surgery followed by six more harrowing months of treatment—she was cancer-free.
Or so we thought.
Nine months later, the cancer returned.
With an incredible will to live, Kim has endured nine different treatments, including 65 + days of chemo and two experimental drug trials. However, this past November, the doctors informed her that she had exhausted all of their standard-of-care treatments.

In a very difficult turn of events, Kim's son Sean was recently diagnosed with advanced leukemia. He lives in California and cannot travel, so Kim is making plans to be closer to him. She has been accepted into a new trial at the City of Hope in Los Angeles, near her two kids and their families, including her three young grandchildren.
Kim's husband of 40 years, Rickey, is working very hard to get her the best treatments possible and still keep his business going during these very challenging times. Kim has a fierce determination to fight, laugh, live, and to share love with her family and friends, making this journey both heartbreaking and heartwarming.
If you have the means, please consider a donation to help this incredible family offset the cost of overwhelming medical expenses, and please consider spreading the word about the two fundraisers on this site, including this one, and the one that has been set up for Kim's son (who will be in treatment for the next six months in LA-see link below).
Let’s do our best to help Kim continue her fight to live, and ease her family's financial burdens as they battle this daunting situation.
Thank you so much,
Friends of Kim
