Magda's Brave, Strong, Tough Fundraiser
Spende geschützt
Our dear Madga has started a brave journey and needs the help of our beloved community to help her spunky, smiley, smart self heal.
In the last month she started having severe nighttime headaches and the medical evaluation discovered an earthshaking diagnosis, Magda had a brain tumor in her posterior fossa. She had signs of increased pressure in her brain so she was rushed that day to Minnesota Children's Hospital where she had emergent surgery and shunt placement that night. In the following days in the ICU she was monitored and tested for a carefully planned neurosurgery to diagnose and remove the tumor. Madga's surgery was 5 hours to resect the tumor, longer than planned. Good news finally came in the days following, the tumor is a low grade Pilocytic Astrocytoma and MRI concurred with the neurosurgeon's careful conclusion- it was completely removed! The blessing of this news is her tumor shouldn't shorten her precious life or recur.
While surgical removal is considered the definitive treatment, its location in the brain makes healing challenging. First, the surgery made a large, painful incision and affected many muscles of the neck so each day Magda, our 9 year old neighbor, friend and family, is dealing with a lot of pain. Second, the portion of the brain that is injured by this disease helps with balance and coordination. Magda is healing an important part of her brain.
Here is where we come in! Our prayers and thoughts have been answered with the best possible news about her surgery- but for her healing to be complete she will need to do a lot of therapy. Magda's family needs financial support to do this in a sustainable way. Magda will need time at home, have many appointments, and travel to get well. With all of us giving a little, the amazing (loving, caring, warm, hilarious, colorful, energetic) Kutz-Hegmans can give their all with less worry for medical bills and missed work that this situation demands.
Thank you for being part of our community- love and generosity are the best parts of us!
Please note, "Go Fund Me" takes a percent fee from each donation so you will be asked to increase your giving to cover that (no pressure to do so just an FYI). I am also setting up a donation option direct through Superior Choice Credit union on Ellis Ave behind SuperOne if you would like to use that option without fees.
