Tracy's Birthday Wish

Donation protected
This year, I am going to do something a little different for my birthday. I don't want anything. Well, I mean don't get me wrong, there is always SOMETHING I want... but after spending time in Africa this year, those kids are all I think about. And what I want now is different than what I used to want. I want to help them, I want to know that I did everything I could to make their life better. They deserve to eat, they deserve clean water & they deserve love. They need our help, so this year on my birthday... please do not buy me anything. Take the money you would have used to buy me a card, to buy me a drink, to buy me a present and donate it to the charity that I am now a part of, African Reflections Foundation.

Matt and I are going back this winter and I am hoping to raise enough money to build a new well, and get a ton of school supplies for the kids. They need so much more, but for now... that is my goal.

Every morning as I am choosing my outfit for the day, I think of the kids in Tanzania that don't have any clothes to choose from. The kids who wear the same dirty, smelly, white t-shirt that is now brown and covered in holes.

As I eat every single meal, I think of the kids I fell in love with that may not even get a meal today. The ones that have never seen running water. The precious little ones who have to walk hours and hours every single day just to get water that most people I know would NEVER drink.

When I talk to my parents, I think of the kids that don't have parents because they died of AIDS, or walked out of their lives. My heart breaks for them and it's impossible for me to not think about them all the time. I can't wait to go back and hug them all and see their huge bright smiles. I am especially excited to see the look on their faces when they see brand new school supplies that are all theirs to keep.

It's impossible to explain what it was like for me in Africa. It's something you have to see for yourself, but I can tell you that it was life changing. My life will never be the same. I thank God that I got this opportunity to meet these amazing people, and I can feel the tug in my heart telling me I need to go back.

Thank you SO much for reading this, and for supporting my dream of helping these amazing children and families.

Lots of Love,

Tracy
