A Family Anchored in Love, Facing Unexpected Loss
My name is Keith Hardin. I am a hard-working father who is used to carrying the weight of taking care of my family on my shoulders. I’m the one people come to for help, so it’s hard for me to accept that for the first time in my life, I need help and I have to ask other people, even strangers on the internet for that help.
My wife Maegan Christine Hardin, age 35, passed away unexpectedly at DCH Regional Medical on November 29, 2023, leaving me and our four sons, Tyler (16), Tanner (14), Taylin (13), and Ryder (11) without an anchor. Maegan had the most beautiful free-spirited soul that you would ever meet. She had a love for the moon and stars and felt at peace with the earth and the wind.
With both of our incomes, we were doing ok, but now amid our grief, the bills keep coming. While our family grapples with this terrible loss, we are facing the immediate concerns of finding a way to pay her medical bills and funeral expenses, while staying financially afloat long enough for me to find a second job or a way to reduce our expenses.
My wife Maegan will be remembered for her commitment to her family. She was a cherished mother, wife, and my best friend. Everyone who met her liked her. Her unexpected departure has deeply affected everyone who knew and loved her.
Your Helping Hand, Our Family’s Lifeline
The purpose of this fundraiser is to cover the hospital bills, the funeral, and its associated costs, as well as give our family a little breathing room financially while we grieve. Your gesture will not only honor my wife Maegan’s memory but will provide the tangible support we need at this time.
Your donation, regardless of the amount, will contribute meaningfully to helping us. Reaching our goal will provide our family the means to focus on Megan’s memory and work through our grief, instead of only being able to concentrate on our financial difficulties.
It’s very difficult to ask people for help when you are used to doing everything yourself, but I do believe that God provides if you take action, and sometimes that action requires us to do uncomfortable things. I believe that as a community we can come together and help one another, and I have to accept that this time, it’s me who has to ask for the love and support of others.
