Madelyn's Journey

Dear Friends and Family, As Madelyn's mom, I (Amanda) have selected GoFundMe to assist her in raising funds for an incredible opportunity that has been offered to her.   I am legally the campaign organizer, and will be transfering the gifts given here to her through my bank account (since she does not have one) for the purchase of her plane tickets and traveling funds.  

This is what Madelyn says about the opportunity and why we're asking you to consider supporting her journey:

"I’ve been invited by an organization that is exploring humanitarian issues in the region.  My own heart has been intrigued by the Middle East for some time.  I am particularly passionate about seeking the good in a place where often the news is only bad.

I will be traveling from November 25-December 3.  Our plan is to first visit Cairo, and then travel to Amman.  I will be with a team of 8 people, and will be the youngest on the team.  It seems like a dream that I’ve had for a long time, and now I’ve been given the invitation to go and see.

I’m writing you today because I have been diligently working my tutoring job every day and have been saving since I first heard of the opportunity in June.  I have in hand $900 toward the total cost of $2500.  Would you consider giving a financial gift towards my outstanding balance?  Above all else, whether you contribute or not, I’m asking for you to be lifting me up for discernment and safety during the trip.

I need to purchase the tickets soon as the departure date is only 6 weeks away!  I am so very grateful for the invitation to go, and for your consideration of partnering with me to experience this chance of a lifetime!"
