In GES we rally together to support each other with encouragement, motivation and inspiration. Now we are requesting the GES family to rally together for a different kind of support for one of our own.
Many of you know John Maddison and have worked with him on some project over the last 3 years he has been a Racker. I think most of you will agree with me when I say that John is an exemplary model of what being a Racker is all about. He is kind, generous and willing to help others day or night. Its hard to believe that he has only been at Rackspace for 3 years because we all know we can count on him for support and go to him for help.
On April 23rd John went to go visit his father who was in poor health when his wife had a major stroke due to a blood clot in her brain while she was home with their children. She was air lifted to Methodist hospital in the medical center and they had to do emergency brain surgery to remove the right half of her skull so the swelling won’t damage the healthy part of her brain.
Due to Coronavirus, John is not permitted to physically be with his wife in the hospital during this traumatic time, but the medical staff is allowing him to FaceTime with her frequently. On April 29th she was able open both eyes when John talked to her and her vitals were stable.
As most of you know John is a very positive optimistic person at work and he is trying to keep his spirits up and remain hopeful for his wife and children during this time. The road to recovery will be long and difficult for the Maddison family, so we would like to raise money to help them financially with Kris's (John's wife) medical bills, hospital stay, physical therapy etc.
