MACE Hervey Bay Children's Ward Fundraiser

Motorcyclists Advocating Child Empowerment (M.A.C.E) is a social motorcycle club that exists to better the lives of children.

It is an especially unfair reality that the youngest members of our community, suffering serious and long term medical conditions, are stuck in hospital rather than just being able to be kids. Yet these little superheroes face every day with unfathomable courage, resilience and hope.

When MACE approached the nurses and staff at the Hervey Bay Hospital, Children's Ward to ask what they needed to help our little superheroes, we expected requests for Nintendo's Switches, Play Stations, toys and play equipment... we were blown away to hear that they needed a CARDIAC MONITOR.

With the ambitious goal of $15,000 for the requested cardiac monitor, MACE SMC - Wide Bay sent out the Bat Signal and the superheros united to put on the first ever Superhero Family Fun Day and Charity Ride.

The event was a resounding success, raising $9,416 while hosting our biggest ever community event, with live music, free kids rides, food, esplanade ride/cruise and a car and bike show. Our little superheroes in training got to meet and hang out with thier DC and Marvel favourites while our generous community dug deep to raise the much needed funds.

Between our incredible community and generous sponsors we got 2/3 of the way to our goal... but like the Avengers after Thanos's snap - we refuse to accept defeat! We must get our little superheroes flying home and back to doing what they should be doing - being kids.

Hervey Bay has a population of 71,000 people. The people that came to our event have already given what they can, if just 1 in 10 of the rest of us could donate, we could reach our goal and get the final $5,600. Of course, we are humbled by the support we have received so far and understand that not everyone has the ability to donate but if you could contribute as much or as little as you can, we would appreciate any thing you can give.

Together we achieve greatness, we've almost reached our goal - together we've got this!
