Please Help Our Women Veterans

WHO WE ARE

"We Owe Our Vets" (WOOV) is a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit agency of grateful Americans serving the Women Patriots who served us. Our organization is 100% donor-supported and all services are provided to our clients at no charge .

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We have partnered with the wonderful staff of Home Depot in our efforts. They have been very generous in their donation of planning, construction materials and manpower and have recently finished renovation of our learning center. Now we are embarking on the construction of a desperately-needed Physical Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Station--and we need your help to raise funds for staff and equipment.

ABOUT WOOV

Located on 30 acres in the rural mountains of Tennessee, we provide a private, compassionate, and healthful training and rehabilitation setting for women veterans in need. We provide short and long-term in-residence programs for single and married women veterans. Because the entire family is usually, affected many of our programs can accommodate children.

OUR CLIENTS

Women are the fastest growing group within the American veteran population. There are presently more than 2.2 million female military veterans in the United States. As soldiers transitioning to civilians, their challenges are unique.

While most women veterans successfully move from military service to civilian life “unbroken” and face only minor challenges, some are not so fortunate. Many female veterans have experienced the tribulations of combat and/or sustained service-related injuries which have changed their lives.

As many as 56% of our women veterans have a service-connected disability. Other women veterans are enduring devastating personal consequences in the form of emotional and family problems associated with prolonged separations brought about by multiple war-time deployments or the new challenges of civilian life—including employability and education.

Sadly, because of these sorts of challenges, the most intensely-affected women veterans are very likely to be either unemployed, in need of emotional or physical therapy, or (far-too-frequently) homeless with children.

OUR SERVICES

We anticipate that WOOV will provide on-site services to as many as 300 women veterans in 2015. Further, we anticipate providing no-cost, on-line computer training and professional job certification to as many as 700 veterans in the same time period.

WOOV offers physical and psychological rehabilitation programs customized for women veterans. We also offer our clients and their caregivers on-site and computer-based vocational training, educational services and therapeutic recreational opportunities…all provided at no cost to the client.

Our services are provided in coordination with national associations, recognized training academies, certified physical therapists and professional counseling providers. Many of our vocational programs lead to professional licensure, state or federal certification and/or, in some cases, college credits.

WILL YOU HELP?

Our women veterans deserve better from the society they served and for the sacrifices they made. We Owe Our Vets is honored to “step into the gap” and support our Women Warriors for their service and sacrifice. Please join us in helping our clients get the physical rehabilitation equuipment they need!
