Light the Night Walk To End Cancer

Donation protected

Dear Family and Friends,
The fight against cancer goes on. There is no one I know who can say they DO NOT have a friend or relative that has battled this terrible disease.  On October 7th, 2014, I lost my Mother and Friend who had been bravely battling cancer for the past four years. She was diagnosed with Diffused Large Cell B Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage four which is a very aggressive cancer.
I have found a way to fight against cancer and that is through joining the Light The Night Walk. Light The Night Walk is a fundraising campaign of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) which brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the diseases. This walk shines a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood patients.
The Rocky Mountain Light the Night Walk will be held on Thursday October 1st, 2015 at 5:30pm.  At Washington Park located at 701 S Franklin Street, Denver, CO 80210.  I would encourage anyone to come and walk. All Cancer survivors in attendance are our honored guests and will receive a t-shirt, illuminated balloon, wristbands and refreshments at the walk.

Here is a bit of information on the lanterns that will be carried at the walk and their significance;

Red Lanterns will be carried by friends and supporters.
White Lanterns will be carried by cancer patients and survivors.
Gold Lanterns will be carried in memory of lost loved ones.

Raising money through this walk for researching cancer related illnesses is fulfilling, however, the most Important and inspirational part of my training is knowing that my hard work could make a difference in the lives of others fighting this terrible disease. My goal is to raise $5,000. I am walking in honor of my Mother, Marge Doyle, who was a wonderful wife to her husband Tom and mother to five children, a grandma to six grandchildren and a loyal friend to many and all around amazing person!
With this inspiration, how can I not fight my way to the finish line? It is a chance to embody a glimmer of hope for those who are battling blood cancer and to remember those who have lost their battle.
I hope you will join me on this journey by making a donation to my campaign. I have a website that you can visit to follow my fundraising progress.
