Dear Friends and Family,
I come to you with a heavy heart to share an urgent plea for support for my father, and your friend, Vic. On January 31st, Vic underwent what was supposed to be a routine open heart surgery, including a double bypass and other aorta and valve issues, in Tyler, TX. The surgery itself went smoothly, and we were filled with hope as he was discharged on Friday, February 7th, to begin his healing journey.
However, our world was turned upside down on Monday, February 10th, when Vic went into cardiac arrest in Aubrey, TX. When the paramedics arrived they struggled to regain a pulse, and once they did it was very faint. He received chest compressions and defibrillation, but remained unconscious and had to be intubated during transportation to the hospital. By Tuesday morning, February 11th, he was back in Tyler and rushed into the OR to drain blood, fluid, and a massive blood clot surrounding his heart.
Since 10:40 AM on Tuesday morning, Vic has been removed from all sedation. Although we are cautiously optimistic, he was without oxygen for around 10 minutes, leaving his condition extremely fragile. Every day is a battle, and we are taking it hour by hour. Vic is now on life support, fighting with everything he has. He has shown very few signs of progress and his prognosis still remains unknown.
In this desperate time, we are humbly asking for your help. All funds raised will go towards Vic's monthly bills, medical expenses, and, if needed, any service costs. Your support, no matter how big or small, will make a world of difference as we navigate this uncertain and heart-wrenching journey.
As Vic himself would say, "You gotta know when to hold 'em & You gotta know when to fold 'em." We are holding on to hope and strength, and we appreciate any and all help you can offer.
With heartfelt gratitude
