Love Mrs. Gillett - Medical Bill Relief

Donation protected
Friends,

Tabatha Gillett was admitted to the hospital
on Friday with severe double pneumonia.
Things digressed quickly and on Sunday
morning she was moved to ICU and put
on a ventilator. With worries of Covid-19,
she was tested multiple times and was
confirmed to be negative on Tuesday.

While this is amazing news that her results
are negative she is still in ICU. She is coming
off the ventilator today but will remain in ICU.
She is improving, but the road to recovery
will be long. Even after leaving the hospital it
will take months for her fully recover and
various therapies may be needed.

Tabatha has been a teacher in our community
for 19 years at Summit Charter School, Cullowhee Valley Elementary, Smokey Mountain Elementary, and Jackson County as a Home Bound teacher.
Tabatha graduated from WCU in 2002, and is currently an instructor and academic advisor at WCU.

I can personally testify to her love for her students, as this is how we met. Tab was my sons 4th grade teacher at SMES. Her love knew no bounds! My son is on the spectrum, and she made him feel safe, comfortable, happy, and loved! Accommodating for any needs he had.
Always optimistic. Always understanding.
Compassionate and kind. He thrived in her classroom that year like no other!
And here’s what I know...the same could be
said for ever other student she has had.
Because that’s just who she is...

So here it is. It’s Teacher Appreciation Week!
I can think of no one better to support during this scary time. A time when you can have no hospital visitors due to the virus. Not even her own family.
We cannot send flowers, bring gifts or balloons,
or bring food to the family due to social distancing.

But what we can do is pray. And we can give.
If you know the Gillett’s you know they are
givers and not takers. They did not ask me
to do this. But I felt very compelled to help.
I know they have insurance, but it won’t cover
all of the medical bills and therapies that
may be needed to follow.

If you don’t know the Gillett’s, and are still
reading this message then please consider
giving in honor of a special teacher that
loved you, believed in you, and inspired
you to be the best that you could be!
Just like Tabatha, or as my sweet boy
so affectionately called her “My Gillett.”

Gods Blessings and Love to all who read this!
Thank you in advance for your giving and please pray for full healing and recovery!
