This is my beautiful best friend Stephanie and her sweet family! She and her husband Long, are some of the best people we’ve ever known and we were so blessed to have become friends with them when we lived in Texas. I have watched this couple come along side other people, loving, and giving so generously. Stephanie has taught me so much about being a generous giver, we’ve been on the receiving end of their support and love more than once, which is why I’m calling out for us to rally along side of them and show them the love and support they NEED right now.
In 2017 they made the sweetest little house a home in Porter, Texas. It was Stephanie’s dream house and neighborhood and I’ve never seen her so excited about gardens, chickens and wildflowers! Later that year they were devastated when their home went underwater during Hurricane Harvey. It was so hard to see everything destroyed but her faith in our good God remained and after some time and restoration they were back in their beloved home. Earlier this year some isolated rain showers hung right over their neighborhood and flooded their home again for a second time. They have been displaced from their home for several months. Again, I watched my dear friend cling to her faith and hope in our good God, never wavering or doubting His goodness.
They have ave been living with sweet friends who have opened up their home and space to them for the last few months and have been making it work while sorting out insurance and the long road of rebuilding their home, again. A couple of weeks ago they decided to turn their outside game room into a quaint studio apartment to get them back on their property and closer to their main house.
Today I was devastated when I got a text from her with photos of that game room, the quaint little apartment/studio they’ve been calling home the last week or so completely under water AGAIN. The main house is also under water making this the THIRD time their home has flooded in less than three years. Devastated is an understatement. I feel so helpless being so far away and I just knew I needed to do something. We need to do something.
Friends, would you consider giving to this family? They are more than deserving of our love, support and prayers. Currently the rain is still falling and they are very much in the chaos of trying to save what they can of their personal belongings. Would you share this? Would you give? My hope is that we could rally around them and support them as they navigate this devastating time. I don’t know what the future holds as far as their home but what I do know is that we serve a good God, a faithful God who is with them. I am trusting that He will work all of this out for their good and His glory. I know Stephanie and Long believe this too. Let’s ease the burden, let’s support them, let’s love them generously.
