Our dear friends Kirsten and Steve have been dealt with the unthinkable. Their beautiful baby girl Raine has been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma and has started chemotherapy. 

Due to Covid, Kirsten was laid off from work and now doesn’t know when she’ll be able to go back. Please help this beautiful family so that the last thing they need to worry about is money, and they can focus on their babygirl.

In Kirsten’s words on August 4th: 

Today, my baby girl is starting chemotherapy...my 14 day old baby is starting chemo...it's a lot for me to say, to type, to acknowledge, but here we are, calling it what it is. Ráine was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that is showing itself in a tumor on her leg. The chemo will be mild.. the doctors here at Stanford are confident in the treatment, and supposedly it has a fantastic success rate in babies under 1 year, theres a lot of hope here.

I had complications during my delivery on the 21st of July, and Ráine insisted that she be born via cesarean. Healthy and beautiful, incredibly strong and insistent, peaceful and wise, Ráine let us know something was wrong and shortly after I nursed her for the first time, she was taken to the NICU at Dominican Hospital, and shortly after that, she was transferred to Stanford. Here, she was in the NICU, tested a ton, and transfered to Oncology and Hematology. Scary. And here we are.
