Lucien Barbarin is a beloved New Orleans jazz trombonist who has captivated audiences around the world with his work in the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Harry Connick, Jr., and many other New Orleans jazz luminaries. To all his fans and anyone interested in helping protect the legacy of New Orleans traditional jazz: Lucien needs your help.
 
Lucien has been fighting stage IV cancer since he first learned of his illness in March 2018, and it’s time to take more extraordinary measures. Unfortunately, even with medical insurance, the cost of medical care and the inability to work during this round of treatment is taking a toll. This has been a long fight, and his resolve to continue the fight is strong.
