AS I lie here in bed looking at the moon, and praying to my Father on this valentines night, about LOVE and how my heart breaks for my Daughter, Jessi El-far, and what I could do to show her how much she is LOVED! Not just by me, but her friends and family also!
Most of you know she is my Daughter, and is fighting metastatic breast cancer.
She did 4 years in the Army, a medic, who did a tour in Iraq. She went to school after the army and graduated the nursing program at UTEP El Paso, and went on to become an RN. Her husband, Tomas, joined the Army prior to her, did several deployments in support of OIF/OEF through the years. He is still in the Army, as a recruiter here in Tampa.
My Daughter found a lump while they were stationed at Ft Lewis JBLM, WA. Her surgery was done at the post Army hospital while Tomas was in recruiter training across the county. Right before leaving for their new assignment in Tampa she was notified of the cancer that they thought they got, had actually spread to some lymph nodes, so when she reached Tampa she had surgery at Moffitt Canter Center to remove the nodes.
And then was told she was cancer free, and she took a nursing position at Moffitt McKinley. After a few months it was time to do follow up labs and scans. And to our surprise it was back, and stronger and quicker than before. And then brain radiation and oral chemo commenced. And eventually on to a new chemo by infusion, which would also require hydration and blood infusions. She hasn't been able to work since last summer. She can't eat much, and is in a lot of pain. She takes pain meds to try and be comfortable enough to sleep. the pain is mostly in her back, and hip. She can't drive, or really do much because of the pain.
As her Mother, it is very hard to see my little angel that God blessed me with in such pain.
There are things that I think she needs for comfort that I can't afford to get for her myself. But with your help, and donation of what a Valentines Day gift would cost we can let her know how very much we love her.
I know I shouldn’t list specific things, but if anyone local owns a furniture store...♀️♀️
She could use a nice memory foam mattress topper, comfortable living room furniture. They have had theirs about 14 years, and no offense, but it is worn out and uncomfortable. They also need a new washer and dryer. And a juicer would be nice! Even a massage therapist that could come to the house would be great! Did I mention dietician, or house cleaning?
I do what I can, but she deserves so much more!
