Show Racism the Red Card

Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is the UK’s largest anti-racism educational charity. It was established in January 1996, thanks in part to a donation by then Newcastle United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.

Show Racism The Red Card is an anti-racism educational charity. It aims to combat racism through enabling role models, who are predominately but not exclusively footballers, to present an anti-racist message to young people and others. Show Racism The Red Card acknowledges that racism changes, as do the experiences of Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities in the UK. Our message and activities therefore need to be able to respond to such changes as and when appropriate.

Rohingya Action North East  (RANE).

Since August 25, 2017, more than 700,000 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar have fled to Bangladesh. This Rohingya refugee crisis is among the largest, fastest movements of people in recent history. The Rohingya, a mostly Muslim minority ethnic group in predominantly Buddhist Myanmar, are escaping what the United Nations has described as genocidal violence that follows decades of persecution and human rights abuses. Flooding into Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh, the refugees joined more than 200,000 Rohingya who fled years before.
Today, about 880,000 stateless Rohingya refugees live in the world’s largest and most densely populated refugee camp, Kutupalong. About half of the refugees are children. RANE provides aids at the camp, raised international awareness and hopes to establish Schools for Girls and Women’s Safe Centres to empower Rohingya women living at the camp.
