Lois' Eagle Scout Project

Hello, my name is Lois Alvar. I am a Life Scout from Troop 844, an all-girls unit based in Coppell, Texas. I'm currently 17 years old and will be an upcoming senior at Uplift North Hills Preparatory. Scouting has become a major part of my life and I am thankful to all the wonderful opportunities I get to experience because of it. My entire family is involved with the great program of scouting and they continue to encourage and support me every step of the way!

One of my current goals is to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank you can earn in the scouting journey! My final step in completing this goal is to successfully plan and carry out an Eagle Scout Project, where I get to lead a group of people in a project to give back to the community.

My Eagle Project

As part of a family who loves the outdoors and hiking park trails together, I found that an Eagle project would be the perfect opportunity to give back to my community’s park. By leading a group of volunteers, we will build and install four Leopold benches on the Cottonwood Trail at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA). This will provide trail hikers a stable place to sit down when they are looking to rest during their hike.

Any donations to this fundraiser will provide materials to build the benches, and other things we might need to accomplish the project such as tools or supplies. All funds remaining after the completion of the project will be donated to the project beneficiary, Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area!
