LLM Green Team Community Splash Pad Project

Tax deductible
Fellow Friends, Family, Parents, Grandparents, Students, Citizens, Neighbors, Business Owners, and Organizations; Residents in Alexander City, Dadeville, Newsite, and other surrounding areas:

You guys!! We need your help!! And by “we” I mean the Green Team of Leadership Lake Martin! As many of you know, we have partnered with the Alex City Parks & Rec to help out with the brand new Splash Pad coming to our SportPlex! One of the main tasks that we are given in LLM is to complete a community project as a team. This includes the funding, logistics, and execution for the project. We were given free rein to come up with any community project idea that we wanted, but we were advised to try and come up with something that everyone on our team would feel passionate about. As a team, we knew what we wanted to do during our very first official meeting. Right away we agreed that we wanted to choose a project that involved doing something for the children of our community. It was something that we instantly agreed upon. And so, that is where the talk of the Splash Pad began! Fortunately for us, a Splash Pad is something that The Alex City Parks and Rec has wanted for a while and had even discussed it and put aside funding for one. It seemed as though the stars had aligned perfectly! Our Team went to a City Council Meeting and the rest was history! We were officially in business! Of course, a lot of planning had to go into it starting with where do we put it‍??? Which actually proved to be more of a challenge than we anticipated! But in the end, we are thrilled with the location in the SportPlex and believe that it is the perfect fit!

That brings me to now...The LLM Green Team is currently in the very midst of a BIG donation campaign! We only have until the end of March to raise the money needed to complete this project.  As it stands, Alex City w̲i̲l̲l̲ be getting a Splash Pad, thanks to the Alexander City Parks & Rec and Tallapoosa County Commissioner Steve Robinson, District 2 for donating the overall cost of the Splash Pad itself. But it is the LLM Green Teams goal to make this Splash Pad even bigger and better than what was originally planned. Our first priority will be putting in a pavilion like shelter with benches and ceiling fans so that parents will be able to sit in the cool shade while watching their children play. We also really hope to be able to add on to the Splash Pad itself by putting in a baby/toddler area specifically for the SplashPlex’s littlest visitors in mind. Our overall mission is to make this Splash Pad area as nice as we possibly can!! But we cannot do it without your help! We are kindly asking you, the members of our community, to help us by making a donation towards this project. We want to s̲t̲r̲e̲s̲s̲ that no donation amount is too small, and every single dollar counts and is greatly appreciated!! We don't care if it's $5.00! It STILL makes a difference and puts us closer to our goal! We are already off to a fantastic start with our Fundraising Campaign thanks to SO many of our local businesses!!❤️ We are overwhelmed with the love and support that we have already received thus far and we could not be more thankful!

IMPORTANT
(For every single individual who donates to our Splash Pad Project on this gofundme page, your name will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Visa Gift Card! We will draw the winner of the gift card on March 31st which is our donation deadline!)

For those that are interested, we will have a Permanent Donor Recognition Wall at the SplashPlex location that will feature all of the businesses and individuals who so kindly donated $1,000 or more to this project!!!

We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you all so much in advance for your gracious love and support! We love Alexander City and we are beyond excited for this new addition to come to our community!! We know that it will have such a positive impact in more ways than one! And we know that our children will absolutely love it, and that alone makes this project worth it!

So what do you say Alexander City???
Let's Make a Splash, Summer 2020!!☀️
