Liver for Alyssa

Alyssa Fairbanks is in desperate need of a liver transplant. She is a young Mother of a toddler, Paxton.   Alyssa has a gentetic disorder that can not be prevented or cured, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).   She has been bravely living with her disease since she was a little girl and went to Nursing school so that she could help others.  While she was in college she suffered many setbacks in her health as well as the loss of her Father, Duane to complications of the disease they share. She has recently been ordered not to practice nursing or even drive, as the toxins in her blood make her so tired, even mundane tasks are too difficult. Soon, she will have to puchase Cobra insurance to continue her medical care. Her Mother is the secretary at Colter Elementary, caring for our children while she is facing the possibility of loosing her own.  Many friends,  family and co-workers have been screened to be a living donor to no avail.  Through disappointments, pain and struggles,  Alyssa has chosen to hold onto hope & is often comforting those around her.
