Little Houghton Village Clock - New Pendulum and Strike Unit
Donation protected
Hello, my name is John and I'm raising money for the Little Houghton Village Clock. The clock on the Church tower is now almost 140 years old! It was made in Birmingham and installed in 1888, and has given faithful service ever since. Few of us who live in the village, or motorists passing by, would claim never to give it even a glance. Like many things in life, we take it for granted.
An old clock is usually worth its weight in gold, but needs to be cared for. Over the years we have done that, and a village appeal and the Parish Council have helped with the task. But now some major work is called for - including a new pendulum mechanism and strike unit. The Church has some money allocated to this, but £3,000 is still needed to get the job done.
