Hi, my name is Lorna and I am fundraising for my niece Lindsey who needs a liver transplant.

Lindsey Rose only 32 years old: Daughter, sister, niece, wife and mom of twin 4-year-olds Calvin and Sierra. She is loving, beautiful, strong, resilient, caring, giving and amazing mom.

Lindsey was diagnosed with stage four liver disease the first part of summer in 2022. She had to wait for 6 months before she would even be considered for a transplant.

As the disease progressed so did her symptoms. Multiple hospital visits and stays. Recently she got covid in the hospital, then double pneumonia, this was a scary time for us as a family as we thought we were going to lose her. But once again, Lindsey, rose to the occasion and got better.

Lindsey now has good and bad days (mostly bad). Twice weekly she has to have fluids drained from her abdomen. It’s a long process, very painful and takes up most of the day. She also deals with many of the other effects that go along with the liver disease.

Since December she was required to have all sorts of tests to see if she would even be able to have the transplant surgery.

The good news is that on Feb 21, we got the OK from Keck Hospital of USC that she would be physically able to have the transplant surgery. Her situation would have been bleak had she not qualified for surgery. Because of how fast her disease is progressing USC has been expediting everything.

We have just dealt with half of her story. When she does get the transplant the other part of the story continues. She will need about 5 months of 24/7 care to recover and a lot of help will be needed. Physically, emotionally and financially.

I admire her husband Rich this man is always by her side. He is self-employed and has lost a lot of work, but his priority is for Lindsey and the twins. Needless to say, finances are falling behind.

I have created this GoFundMe on behalf of my niece and her husband. To ask for some financial help to offset expenses the Dorkins have incurred due to Lindseys medical condition. 100% of these funds will be used to help with health care and household expenses. Any amount is appreciated and will help lift some weight off of Lindsey and Rich’s shoulders.
