Hello everyone !

After the very successful fundraiser four years ago that allowed me to produce and shoot my movie "Les Paroles du Soir" (2021) (The Evening Word) (View here), and following the making of my first feature film "L'Amertume" (2023) (Bitterness), partly financed by the University of Warwick's Lord Rootes Fund, I am reaching out this summer to ask for your support in raising funds for the production of my newest project "L'Immortel", a feature film adaptation of the short story (of the same name) written by Jorge Luis Borges in 1947, and translated to French by Roger Caillois and René L.-F. Durand.

Confirmed to be produced in part thanks to the University of Paris 8 FSDIE's grant, I am hoping to complete the financing of "L'Immortel" thanks to your help. The film is planned to begin shooting at the end of the month of August for 5 days; and again in early December for another 5 days across France, Spain and England. The technical team stays the same, we are seven in total and have been working together for more than four years now, ready to get started with something new!

After the premiere of my latest film "L'Amertume" last July in Paris, France at the cinema L'Archipel, I was left with more excitement and determination than ever to get started with another project soon. I started adapting "L'Immortel" a month later and have been working on bringing it to life since then. And here it finally is!

ABOUT THE FILM

Taking place at three different time periods (5th century AD, 1920 and 2024), "L'Immortel" is a film in which Marcus, a Roman soldier, discovers, as he seeks a river that will grant him with immortality, that he is already immortal. Forced to endure the crossing of centuries and the passing of time, he becomes a witness to history and the great upheavals of the world. However, this immortality becomes too much of a burden, leaving him alone to face the eternity and transience of human existence. And Marcus will soon decide to change the course of his mission... Straddling different temporalities, this dramatic, suspended film poetically questions the limits of memory, the loneliness of immortality and the value of each moment in a finite life.

Thanks to 'L'Immortel', I continue to push in the direction of the ideas that interest and continue to inspire me to grow as a writer and filmmaker. Thus, in order for this project to be carried out properly, I will need significant human and material resources. This is therefore why I am reaching out to you!

BUDGET

My goal is to raise 3200€ by the 25th of August 2024. This will help cover the ten days of shoot in all of the different sectors: art department, camera department, catering, misc, distribution and insurance - as well as allowing me to compensate the cast and crew.

Après la levée de fonds très réussie d'il y a quatre ans qui m'a permis de produire et de tourner mon film "Les Paroles du Soir" (2021) (Cliquez pour voir), et après la réalisation de mon premier long métrage "L'Amertume" (2023), financé en partie par le Lord Rootes Fund de l'Université de Warwick, je sollicite cet été votre soutien pour la production de mon nouveau projet "L'Immortel", une adaptation en long-métrage d'une nouvelle du même nom écrite par Jorge Luis Borges en 1947, et traduite en français par Roger Caillois et René L. - F. Durand.

Produit en partie grâce à la bourse du FSDIE de l'Université de Paris 8, j'espère atteindre le financement total de "L'Immortel" grâce à votre aide. Le tournage du film devrait débuter à la fin du mois d'août pour 5 jours, puis début décembre pour 5 jours à travers la France, l'Espagne et l'Angleterre. L'équipe technique reste la même, nous sommes un groupe de sept et nous travaillons ensemble depuis maintenant plus de quatre ans, tous excités de nous lancer dans un nouveau projet!

À la suite de l'avant-première en juillet dernier à Paris, au cinéma L'Archipel, du dernier film que j'ai réalisé "L'Amertume", je n'ai jamais été plus excité et déterminé à l'idée de me relancer dans l'écriture. J'ai commencé à adapter "L'Immortel" en août 2023 et j'ai travaillé à sa réalisation depuis lors. Et le voici enfin !

À PROPOS DU FILM

Se déroulant à trois époques différentes (5ème siècle après JC, 1920 et 2024), "L'Immortel" est un film dans lequel Marcus, un soldat romain, découvre, alors qu'il est à la recherche d'une rivière qui supposément lui donnera l'immortalité, qu'il est déjà immortel. Obligé de subir la traversée des siècles et le passage du temps, il devient le témoin de l'histoire et des grands bouleversements du monde. Mais cette immortalité devient un fardeau trop lourd, le laissant seul face à l'éternité et à la fugacité de l'existence humaine. Et Marcus va bientôt décider de changer le cours de sa mission... À cheval sur différentes temporalités, ce film dramatique et suspendu interroge les limites de la mémoire, la solitude de l'immortalité et la valeur de chaque instant d'une vie finie.

Grâce à "L'Immortel", je continue à explorer les idées qui m'intéressent et m'inspirent pour grandir en tant qu'auteur-réalisateur. Ainsi, pour que ce projet soit mené à bien, je vais avoir besoin de nombreux moyens humains et matériels. C'est donc pour cela que je fais appel à vous!

BUDGET

Mon objectif est de récolter 3200€ d'ici le 25 août 2024. Cela permettra de couvrir les dix jours de tournage dans tous les secteurs: département artistique, département caméra, régie, divers, distribution et assurance - ainsi que de me permettre de défrayer les acteurs et l'équipe.
