I have the opportunity to travel to India this winter with Limitless Child, a Portland based non-profit. In India, I will work with vulnerable girls from the slums and orphanages to teach them soccer, create relationships and empower them to have a better future. I'll also have educational and learning opportunities which will help me as I strive to become a global citizen.
I will be traveling to India with 4 other young women to teach soccer, but we will be doing so much more. We also will be learning about children's rights, child trafficking, girls empowerment and child welfare in India. We will be connecting with 40 at risk young girls and they will be connecting with us. We will learn about their lives, their dreams and the challenges they face every day.
Children living in orphanages or extreme poverty don't often get the chance to play, to have fun or to connect with their peers from their local communities. By sponsoring me, you will provide these girls with opportunities to play soccer, to laugh with us and to develop relationships.
