Liliana's Hip Dysplasia Fund

Spende geschützt
Hi Friends and Family:

My name is Susan, I'm the Grammie to my beautiful granddaughter Liliana Grace. In January of this year, much to our surprise and dismay, my daughter and son in law got some devastating news from an Orthopedic Surgeon that their sweet  Liliana has a complete right hip dislocation caused by congenital hip dysplasia that went undetected.  She complained of unrelated tummy pain in November of last year, and her pediatrician sent her for an abdominal xray, that's when we got results that they detected right hip dysplasia, and referred her to an Orthopedic surgeon.  It was then determined that her condition was severe and she will undergo major corrective surgery on April 5th, (open reduction as well as femoral osteotomy) followed by 3 day + hospital stay, 12 weeks in a spica cast, a lengthy recovery and will have to relearn to walk again while in physical therapy.  Liliana's diagnosis has completely thrown all of us for a loop. We are so grateful that this disease is treatable and (hopefully) won't cause her any problems later on in life. On the other hand, it has been a bitter pill to swallow.

Many people have reached out to offer support and asked if/how they can help during this difficult time. Liliana will need lots of special gear as well as clothes so she's completely comfortable. Spica casts are big and bulky and leave your child in a permanent frog-leg position during recovery. I'm also hopeful that we can raise money to help cover the significant costs of medical expenses for surgery (my daughter and son in law have a very high deductible plan so the surgery isn't covered), hospital stay and follow up MRI's, procedures, hardware removal, and to keep Stephanie & Jay afloat while they take time out of work to care for their daughter.

We greatly appreciate the love and support from our friends and family and are so incredibly thankful for the wonderful people in Liliana's life! If you've been fortunate to meet her and spend some time with her, you know that she is such a joy and is always so full of happiness with the sweetest disposition.  I believe it is her sweet and easygoing nature that will carry her and all of us through this.

I will continue to post updates here to keep everyone informed of her progress. Keep the prayers and well wishes coming for our sweet Liliana Grace!

Please share and spread the word with family & friends.
