Der Journalist Julian Assange droht an die USA ausgeliefert zu werden, wo ihm 175 Jahre Haft und ein unfairer Prozess drohen, für etwas, was die Aufgabe jedes Journalisten ist: die Wahrheit zu veröffentlichen.
Gerade mobilisiert sich die Zivilgesellschaft, die öffentliche Meinung dreht sich zugunsten von Assange. Der Druck wächst, und damit verschieben sich die Gewichte in diesem durchweg politisierten Fall zu Gunsten der vielen, die das nicht mittragen. Wir wollen mit Lichtinstallationen auf öffentlichen Gebäuden auf Assange aufmerksam machen, es wird an mehreren internationalen Orten geschehen, für alle sichtbar.
Merkt euch schon mal vor: 23.01. nächster Verhandlungstag; 25.02. (Faschingsdienstag) ist der Gerichtstermin zur Frage der Auslieferung an die USA.

Journalist Julian Assange is at risk of being extradited to the United States, where he faces 175 years in prison and an unfair trial for something that every journalist's job is: to publish the truth.
Civil society is currently mobilizing, public opinion is turning in favor of Assange. Pressure is growing, and with it the weights in this thoroughly politicized case are shifting in favor of the many who see this major abuse of power. We want to draw attention to Assange with light installations on public buildings, it will happen in several international locations, visible to everyone.
Make a note: 23.01. next day of trial; 25.02. (Shrove Tuesday) is the court date on the question of extradition to the United States.
