Library for Previously Incarcerated Families
Donation protected
Providence House has a unique gender-responsive, trauma-informed approach to providing temporary housing for women who would otherwise be incarcerated, transitional housing for homeless women and children, and permanent supportive housing.
Providence House has ten residences, and at the Women’s Justice Program House in South Slope Brooklyn, we need your help to raise $5,000 to create a library and reading area for the children who call this residence home.
This residence is part of the Women’s Justice Program, providing an alternative to incarceration on Riker’s Island with housing and supportive services. Providence House serves ~ 400 women, children and families annually (going to 600 this year).
Of folks supported by Providence House, 85% are women, 80% are people of color, and 37% are children.
We deeply appreciate any support you can provide in creating this safe and supportive learning space.
Thank you endlessly for your generosity.
