Since taking over ownership of Liberty in October of 2017, our number one priority has been the health, safety, and financial well being of our staff. Serving high class food drinks and hanging out with the best looking customers in the world (that's you!) has been something of an added bonus.
We've been pretty successful so far in achieving that goal! We've been able to offer health insurance to our staff since 2018, and are very proud of our ability to promote from within and offer meaningful career training to everyone who works here. Basically every dollar not spent on inventory, overhead, or maintenance gets rolled back into the pockets of the working Bartenders, Barbacks, Baristas and Chefs that comprise the Liberty crew.
Well, its a funny time to be alive: with the shut down of dine-in service statewide, we're facing individual and collective challenges financially. Like lots of other awesome bars and restaurants we're trying to find a mix of to-go, delivery, and walk-up sales that will allow us to make payroll without having to permanently layoff any of our staff. Even in the best case scenario the available hours that our staff can work are severely constrained.
Why are we telling you this? It's in response to the generous offers of those of you who've asked how to help; We'll use every dollar raised through this fundraiser to help meet emergency expenses and replace lost tips and wages for our staff. We've committed to making sure that no-one who works at Liberty need go hungry or in live fear of eviction, and this is one of the ways that our community of devoted, loyal, and handsome friends can help. We're busy generating an internal picture of who is most at risk, and will immediately start disbursing cash to those in need.
We know that this time of emergency has a lot of very worthy targets for donation and support, and we will be very grateful for any amount of money that you are able to contribute. When the coast clears and we're once again able to welcome you into our space, knowing that you helped out in our time of collective need will make our time together even more magical.
Just to reiterate, none of the money raised here will go to the bar itself, every dollar will be distributed to the staff.
