Lianne Rear needs our help

Hi, my name is Tricia Dang and I am asking for help for my friend and colleague Lianne Rear.

I know Lianne from her work as a nurse in Mental Health and Substance Use in Nanaimo. She is an excellent nurse providing compassionate care to her client's and mentorship to all her colleagues.

In 2019 she experienced a serious head injury and was off work for 2 years. She managed to recover to the point that she was able to be back at work full time and to her full capacity, which was not an easy feat.

Unfortunately she discovered that the walls of her house were rotting this fall and has been involved in a heavy remediation and renovation project that has lead to another injury. She has been ordered off of work until at least February to recover from this injury. Due to her previous injury, her sick bank was drained and nurses do not have access to short term disability outside of their sick bank. She has applied for IE, but there is a wait and it will only be 31 % of her income. Lianne is well versed in all the community supports in Nanaimo and has been accessing them, but there are still gaps.

Lianne and Asher, her 12 year old son, are needing support from their community right now. They currently need help to cover their basic living expenses. She has deferred all possible payments and maxed out all other sources of credit. If you can help, either monetarily or by dropping off food or extra household items like toilet paper, cleaning supplies etc., it would make a huge difference in their lives right now.
