Clairville Building/Rink Fund
I am a member of the Clairville/Beersville community. We are a very small community that is over flowing with community spirit. At the heart of the community sits a run down Community hall and outdoor skating rink that is on it's last leg. None of this stops our community from coming together in good times and bad to show that we are here for each other. We have skating parties, outdoor hockey tournaments, soft ball tournaments, card games, blood pressure clinics, day camps for children, benifit events to raise money for our locals in need and many more events. All required funding for these events comes mostly through donation, profits made through fundraising and the pockets of our very loyal community members. The sad time has come, however, for us to close the doors of our hall. It is over 100 years old and really isn't safe to use any more. The foundation is crumbling, the ceiling is cracking, leaking and moldy. It is beyond repair and will need to be torn down. With that, the outdoor rink will soon follow. Volunteers from the communtiy made this rink with plywood boards and cedar posts that are now rotten and unsafe. This hall and rink are the only places that our community has to offer as recreation options for our children. We have no playground, and soon will have no community hall. Without the proper resourses, it is hard to say where our children will end up. We are fundraising on our own for these projects but a boost would sure make things a lot easier. We seem to hit every road block when it comes to applying for funding but we are a strong minded community and aren't going to let that stop us. 
Our community hall and rink are very important to us. It is where we gather. Together as a community, in this hall, we laugh, cry, celebrate lives born and lost. Entertain family and friends and come together in the both the best and worst of times. It is the glue that holds our commintiy together and we need to do whatever we can to keep our comminity spirit alive.
