LGBTQIA Marriage License Fund of Pittsburgh

This page is being set up to help reimburse and fund the cost of marriage license applications in and around Pittsburgh to any members of the LGBTQIA+ community that are seeking to get married prior to the new administration taking office in January 2025 (or in any time after)

While there’s more costs involved in any marriage process, reimbursing at least the application fee in a show of support could be a great place to start. Fees in Allegheny County are $80 per application. Funds will be dispersed to couples directly via online payment (like Cashapp, Venmo, or PayPal). A Facebook page will be set up soon connected to this page so that couples can apply for reimbursement and receive the application fee money once donations begin to come in.

Receipts will be posted as proof of donation, and any leftover funds that go unused will be donated to LGBTQIA+ organizations fighting to maintain protections for our community. Receipts of these donations will also be posted.

About the organizer: I am a queer woman, married to a nonbinary person. I am ordained to perform marriages via the American Marriage Ministries (no religious affiliation) We live in Pittsburgh and are proud to support the journey of our community members. We cannot sit by and watch our friends go through worry and panic, wondering if they should get married now or wait - we feel a bit hopeless yet motivated and decided if anything, maybe being able to monetarily contribute in some way can relieve the stress involved in having to make these decisions during what should have been a peaceful, happy, non-rushed experience.

Many will never know the feeling of having your relationship, or life, used as a political playing-piece or the status of your marriage & your legal right to exist together called into question. Please support if you can, and share.
