Letters to political prisoners in Belarus

My name is Yury and I’m from Belarus .

In 2020, man calling himself “last dictator of Europe” – Alexander Lukashenko – rigged presidential election what sparked peaceful protests all over the country. Many protestors were brutally beaten by police and jailed for fictitious reasons. Many Belarusians escaped the country and found refuge in neighbor Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine. In revenge Lukashenko crafted migrant crisis on the border with those countries.

My Mission is to support all political prisoners in Belarus. I started in October 2020 from 90 postcards . The quantity of mail pieces has been growing as more and more people were jailed for raising their voices for Freedom and Human Rights and against dictatorship:I mailed 111 in November, 227 in February 2021, 300 in March, 479 in June… Accordingly to Belarusian Human Rights center Viasna there are 911 political prisoner in Belarus as of 12/14/2021. I plan on writing to all of them... I'll cover the costs for paper and toner, but I need your help to buy International stamps.
