I'm Sahar Chohan, a junior at Mountain Lakes High School and the founder/organizer of "Letters 4 Lifesavers". On the frontlines, healthcare workers have A LOT on their minds. As a way to provide these lifesavers some moral support and brighten their challenging days, I've created "Letters 4 Lifesavers": a system where you can write a letter to a healthcare worker to help lift their spirits. You can request for your letter to be typed, handwritten, have a specific color, and more. Your message will be transferred onto 100% recycled paper and mailed to a healthcare worker at Morristown Medical Center. Anyone can write a message so this gift from the heart can work its magic. A special letter on paper hits differently than a black and white email. I understand that many people have busy lives and don't have time to go out of their way to mail a special letter. Our goal is to mail at least 100 letters by the end of each month. Morristown Medical Center has ~6,000 employees, which means we need a lot of letters to go around! Funds will be used for postal stamps - a crucial factor necessary for this organization to be successful longterm.
In a time when love and kindness are most needed, I want to show that any kind act - no matter how big or small - never goes to waste. Anyone can make a difference! Mental and emotional health is crucial - especially for our strong nurses, doctors, midwives, community health workers, pharmacists, and so many more in the long list. Not only is this organization very important to me, but its results will have an important, positive impact on healthcare workers.
