It is one thing to cope with losing a daughter and a brother within one week, but another entirely to continue living in that traumatic environment afterward.
As many of my friends and family know, on December 18th, 2019 my sister passed away after a long battle with Tuberculosis. As Esther fought for her life, my mom was constantly by her side, providing not only for Esther’s physical needs but also for the needs of her children. My mom has always been the rock in our family – she not only raised myself and my two siblings, but has joyfully taken on the responsibility of raising many of her nephews and grandchildren. Currently she is the sole caretaker for 5 kids that range from 1-18 years old, two of which are Esther’s.
A week after we lost my sister, my mom’s world was shaken again when her brother passed away. She is now in the process of grieving these two deaths. As a way of helping to enhance healing and emotional stability for my mom, I am raising funds to help her find a permanent residence. She is currently renting a home that has been filled with grief and trauma for the past year. In the past, my mom has suffered from homelessness and she is concerned that it could happen again. In this light, we are requesting help from our friends and family to bless my mom with a permanent plot of land where she can continue to raise my cousins, nieces and nephews. Your support and continued prayer mean a lot for our family in this time of grief and transition.
